Need Help with Vacuum Procedure

I am new to the forum and was hoping to get help with a vacuuming question. I am vacuuming to waste due to use of floc (I know from reading everything here that is not recommended but either way I have already done it). My system is setup with two skimmers and vacuum port. When vacuuming I was wondering if I use the vacuum port would closing or opening the skimmer line decrease suction power? Should I plug one of the skimmers to help reduce how much water I am losing while vacuuming?

Yes. Close the skimmers. They reduce suction to the vacuum and will cause you to lose more water than you need to.

If the vacuum starts sticking to the floor, then you'll have no choice but to open up a skimmer to reduce suction enough to vacuum.
