Need help with suggestions on these ball valves

Hello community,

Just signed up as I was pool stored two weeks ago. Loving everything I see so far. One thing however, is these ball valves. As you can see in the photo one of them snapped as I was trying to adjust it. Now, both of them seem like they’re seized up and I’m afraid to apply more force as I’m afraid I might break them. Any suggestions on what I could use to replace these? I feel like the plastic or PVC type just don’t last very long

Replace ball valves with diverter valves from Jandy, Hayward, Pentair, or other manufacturers.

Thanks for the suggestion. What are the differences between the current ball valve and a diverter valve? Also i did a quick search and it seems that the diverter valve has a third port on it? Just wondering what the purpose is of that?

There are two way diverter valves, which is what you want, and three way diverter valves.

Diverter valves can be rebuilt as necessary.
