Need help closing, I have Conflicting Info.

I may have found a way to plug it, but I dont like how I had to do this... I used my robot adapter (same size threads as the plug but deeper) I added a rubber plug to the center. I screwed it in till it bottomed out and tightened it up till the bubbles stopped.

also how far below the skimmer should I keep it? right now its about 3 inches...

Hard to say since I can't see the inside, but if it's the notch runs through all the threads, maybe nothing since its now glued in. Maybe a smaller plug that will fit all the way inside and then expand when you tighten it so the edge of the plug fills the thread more.

As long as the water level is below the mouth of the skimmer I think your safe. Once it rises and floods the skimmer box is where I get concerned.
