Although we tried, life and summer went on and we just couldn't keep up with the pool care and maintenance. Rain, heat, neglect and the depletion of all forms of chlorine over the past few weeks has caused algae to form and grow in spots all over the pool. We don't anticipate using the pool anymore this summer. I really don't want to close in the condition it in. Advice please!! and thank you!

Only option is to SLAM.
If you can’t maintain proper FC levels, you really should look into adding a salt water chlorine generator.

Not that this will help much but here are my current numbers.
ph 7.8
FC 0
CYA 20 or 30?(I still saw the dot at 30 but disappeared between 30 and 20)
TA 90
CH 250
Now my question is how much chlorine to buy and can/should I purchase Cal Hypochlorite to knock it out?
Also, I updated my signature to include my pump and filter and will be looking into a SWG. Will probably ask in that pertaining forum. Anyone have suggestions for a SWG, feel free to share and comment. I don't know the first thing about them ☺🤔🙃

Count your cya as 30 so slam fc level is 12ppm. FC/CYA Levels
Use liquid chlorine. Buy about 10 gallons to start- as u will go through alot at 1st.
Lower ph to 7.2 before beginning.

For a successful SLAM Process
you need to continue to MAINTAIN Slam level fc for your cya until you meet ALL 3 end of slam criteria-

You are done when:

CC is 0.5 or lower;
You pass an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test
AND
the water is clear.
(Crystal Clear w/no algae dead or alive)

*Check & scrub every nook & cranny where algae may hide (light niches, steps, drain covers, ladder handrails, skimmer throats/weirs, etc.)
*Run slam level water through all water features & lines for at least a couple hours a day during the SLAM Process.
*Brush & or vac daily (this breaks up biofilms that algae uses to protect itself from chlorine)
*Backwash/clean filter when pressure rises 25%over clean pressure.

As far as a swg goes…
You have a large pool so u need a swg rated for 60k gallons - since one rated for at least 2x’s your pool volume is recommended.
Circupool & pentair have units that large.
