Folks:
I've been draining pool for CYA of 140-160... I'm at about 5500 gallons......when I get to the point of beginning to refill..what about Chlorine...while filling...since I wont be at the proper gallonage of the calculation...Do I wait the few days it will take me to refill before adding chlorine as the pool is a bit green now on the drain...or...???

Do you really think it will take a few days to fill back up? Well, if for some reason it does, it wouldn't hurt to add "some" bleach. Just be modest about it and not go too crazy trying to resolve any algae issues before it's full. Plus, you would ideally want to have a way for it to mix around, so if you can't run the pump when the water level is low, you'll have to mix/sweep/brush the bleach around manually. Hopefully the refill doesn't go as slow as you expect. Once full, run another panel of tests and go from there. Good luck.
