My generic pump is too much I think

Just for clarification, an SPL rated pump is double up rated so a 1.5 SPL pump would have the same head curve as a 1 HP up rated pump which has the same head curve as a 3/4 HP full rated pump within the same pump line. So the pump is not "big" at all.
