I'm at a loss at what to do. I've gotten mustard algea several times in the past and have been able to successfully SLAM it away. This year, I opened the pool, SLAM ed away the green water and algae, then did a stain treatment for metals (stain free). The pool looked great for about a day. The algea came back about a day after stain treatment. I know that shocking too soon will bring the stains back, so I waited a couple days. Sure enough, the metal stains came back (really badly in my hot tub section) and I have been slaming for over a week and I still wake up to new stains on the walls and stairs (mostly), and significant chlorine loss. The spots look like algea but are really hard to brush off. The pics are after I did my morning brush. It doesn't seem like the usual mustard algae. I just want to make sure im treating the right problem? Out of desperation, last night i threw in some copper algecide i had lying around, which now i regret, lol. It's really hard to get a good pic, but i attached a few. The second to last one is in the hot tub, and some of what i thought was algae turned a dark green color over night. I do test myself usually, but I wanted phosphates and metal reading so I got a leslie's test yesterday:
