Mustard Algae

Hi this is cheriberri,
We have a mustard algae problem. I have already done a regular slam, and am now in the mustard algae realm at 24ppm it has been 24 hours and the algae has diminished but it is still there. We are brushing and checking the chlorine levels every hour or 2 to keep at that level. Since the algae is still there how long shall i keep it at 24? How long before it begins to ruin the equipment. Here are my levels: Cl at 24, cya 40, TA 80, Ph 7.5, and Borates at 40. Thanks for anyone who has info. Our filter is diatomaceous, pump a whisper flow not sure the model I think 2.8.

I've gotten rid of mustard in a week or so, but a SLAM can take up to two weeks. It sounds like you are moving in the right direction, so keep at it.

Is it ok to keep the cc at 24 for 2 weeks? Thanks Cheriberri

I doubt that will be necessary, but you have to reevaluate each day. Read this.

Hi thanks I read the article twice but it does not state how long I keep it at the cc24 level and what is the max time for that. What am i looking for after 24 hrs at cc24? When will I know I am done? I dont
want to do this over again, it is very expensive.
