Pool was clean all year, but two weeks of high 80s, low 90s temps in New England brought on sudden infestation of mustard algae once the temp broke briefly (we've had some up and down temps after weeks of heat). I thought it was dirt at first, then it spread all over the place. I've tried everything - Lurked and read tons of posts here to try to do this before ordering Pool RX and a recommended Yellow Out type bromide product.

Delays in shipping meant Pool RX showed up first, so I put that in yesterday and 24 hours later I am at step 2 of putting it in the filter basket now

I have a few questions....

The water is crystal clear, but the algae has settled on the floor. Does this get killed and disappear or does it need to be vaccuumed out? Filtered? Both? All of the above? I'm not sure how this part works, tbh. I started running my Dolphin since I don't have a manual vac, unsure if I'm helping, hurting, or doing nothing at all.

My bromide product should arrive today. Should I use that as well as the Pool Rx together or just keep it on hand for future seasons and let Pool Rx do it's job?

Neither of those products are recommended or wise to use. So I would not expect alot of direction in the use of them.

Remove the PoolRx. Do not use sodium bromide. Both create far larger issues than some algae.
