Ok, so I'm new here and I'm the recent recipient of my dad's old hot tub! I've had it for a month and its been working great, though I've been learning on the way.
Anyways, heres my issue. Four days ago I refilled my tub due to high CYA from the dichlor I've been using. I balanced the water, then shocked it with MPS and then added chlorine. I used the tub one day after all of that and did not add chlorine after the last time I used it. Water felt great, light chlorine smell, but nothing out of the ordinary. Today I go to check my water balance with my taylor k2005 kit and the CC reading is through the roof at 3ppm! I had no FC since I forgot to add CL after the last time I used it a day ago. So today I shocked with MPS, adjusted a high PH issue and added CL. Now my FC is at 4ppm where it should be but my CC is insane at like 10ppm. Ive only used the tub once on this fill up.
I did read (after the fact) that MPS will affect a DPD CL test, but now I'm not sure if my tub will be safe to use tonight (8-9 hours after MPS shock, PH adjustment, and CL treatment).
FC: 4
CC: 10
PH: 7.5
TA: 80
CH: 100
CYA: ran out of reagent, should be very low since I just refilled.
