I am experiencing a similar issue with my 1 year old spa/pool. The above ground spa has natural stone veneer, and it has begun to collect mineral deposits as well as what I believe to be efflorescence, but would like confirmation and maybe some help with keeping it under control.
Yesterday, I was able to get 99% of the mineral deposits removed by scraping with a screwdriver and applying diluted muriatic acid from a spray bottle (over and over and over again). While I was at it, I sprayed that same solution on parts of the veneer that appear to be chalky, but not mineral deposits.
Please help. Thank you
the first two photos are before and the third is after. Note the chalky substances on either side of the spillway.
