Ascorbic acid treatment lifted metal staining from my pool & i'm looking for a "cost effective" sequestrent. Does anyone have experience with the Clorox Pool & Spa Metal & Stain Control? Is it even a sequestrent? Any recommendations?

Running your pH down loe (7.0 - 7.2) will likely keep the iron from precipitating Where do you keep the pH? Are you on a well for refill?
PH is usually at 7.6 to 7.8. If keeping the PH at 7.0-7.2 will keep the iron stains away that's good news as I prefer not to use the sequestrant. I refill with regular piped utility water. Maybe I've been running the PH too high & caused the staining in the first place. This forum is a great resource.
