Hi All,
A month ago I purchased a new Trident PS online. I read through the documentation, set it up and turned it on. The robot drove itself promptly to the deep end and drowned. The only movement would be when I would restart it the robot would move forward a few inches, then back a few inches and stop. I called the seller and was told 'sorry, you need to call maytronics for support'. OK note to self about my next purchase - your on your own.
Called Maytronics and after having the guy on the telephone read the instructions to me with no change I was given an RMA number and a UPS pickup ticket. ( This was dead out of the box and you wont send a replacement? hmm). Two weeks later the bot shows back up and its not the same one. According to the paperwork mine had a motor failure and they exchanged it with a factory refurbished cleaner. Ok, it carries the same warranty so I wont get picky.
Plugged this one in and it works as advertised. It does a really good job imo and is so far still working very well.
My question is today I received another box from Maytronics. Inside are two brand new motor assemblies for my robot with a no charge invoice. Not complaining but I begin to wonder if these cleaners are so unreliable that you need to have spare motors on hand? Has anyone else experienced this? They seem to enjoy a good reputation online but this just seems pretty strange.
