I had a older jacuzzi 1.5 hp pump that failed. I replaced it with a 3hp vs pump from dohenys. Harris HPE002 Inground VS Variable Speed Pool Pump, 3 HP - Doheny's Pool Supplies Fast . They just refer to the fittings as 2 inch threaded.
Everything is going well but when I had threaded fittings on both pumps that were close to the same size, but the original fittings seemed to be a different thread pitch, but very close in size. I used the fittings that came with the pump, and had to use a reducer bushing to get to 1.5 inches.
My question is how to get the fittings that came with the pump, I'm calling them unions but not sure if that is the right terminology. Are they a normal NPT style fitting, or something that could only come from dohenys. I want to get a back up set, as I wasnt crazy about the connection I made, no leak yet but I always like to be prepared.
