15 year old caulk around the pool has separated in some spots. I've hunted for a year on someone that will come out and do the proper caulk install. Pool companies and masons tell me to just mortar it in, that no one uses caulk.
I guess the only way to get it done is to do it myself. Any credibility to these places?
Picture attached of the worst area. 80% of it still looks great after all this time.
For the caulk I can pick out any polyurethane self leveling exterior sealant?
Most of the area is very shallow, 2-4mm. There is concrete under it. I assume the caulk just goes straight onto it, like it is right now?
Any areas deeper I should fill in with backer rod, to bring it up to a few millimeters? What depth needs the backer rod?
If there are any cracks that go deeper, anything that can fill in fine cracks, where backer rod may not fit?
I see many videos and posts of people using grout or sand. Sometimes on top of the backer rod. Any reason for this? Maybe grout would fill in small cracks before putting in backer rod?
