This is the first year opening our pool so we had a pool company do the honors...I hope to take on that responsibility going forward (wife permitting).

Other than high TA we're off to a good start at getting the water chemistry balance where it should be. My question is if it is safe for me to defer the "lower pH then aerate and repeat as needed" cycle until we getting closer to when we intend to use the pool around Memorial Day weekend? I've been dumping MA to get the pH to where it is now...at the outset it was too high to read...but TA has barely come down. I don't presently have a good way to aerate so I hope to defer that until we are closer to actually using the pool at the end of next month as long as ignoring TA for the next few weeks isn't going to create long term problems.
