Make up water filter

I am less than a month away from filling our new pool and am thinking about getting a filter for filling the pool as we occasionally have rust colored water. I have an r.o. System for drinking water and it works great. I have seen filter housing which are approximately 20”x5” that I was thinking about using. The actual filters are available in micron ranges from 1-100 with 25 micron being what is recommended for sediment /dirt/ rust. I will be getting a D.E. filter if that makes a difference. Anyone ever go this route and if so, what style and micron filter did you use?

Ok, without a siggy line to tell me about your pool and equipment I'm just shooting in the dark a bit but.....

There is this trick of using a lidded bucket filled with pillow stuffing poly fiber. You run the fill water thru it before it hits the pool and over time the fiber in the bucket traps and collects a mess of the iron.

Check out YouTube for "removing iron from pool water" and you'll see a lot of great homemade contraptions.

Others use socks on the hose end to try to capture some of the iron... I don't know how well it works?
