I can't seem to get rid of my massive algae problem.

EC is 5
TCI is 10
ALK is between 180 and 240
PH is 8.4
TH is 250
CYA is 100.
Them readings are from a hth 6 way test strip.

I also have Aquarius 3 way test kit that is drops in water and they are PH is 7.8
BR is 6.5
CL is 3.0
I also use the hth chlorine liquid and also the hth chlorine pucks.

Welcome to TFP! I have to be honest, you will not have much success trying to manage chemistry with test strips. They are simply horrible. In addition, if your CYA really is at or over 100, using pucks are the last thing you need since they add more CYA.

To remove algae we use the SLAM Process. Folks in your area try to obtain a TF-100 from the states or get their hands on a Taylor K-2006C test kit. That's step #1, followed by that SLAM link above. With accurate test kit results we can give you clear guidance to get rid of that algae once and for all.

Agreed...I quit using Trichlor about 4 days ago. Went to liquid bleach. Was able to get rid of trace algae and get a measurable chlorine level finally. Temps are over 100 daily here and the Trichlor blew my CYA out of the water. When friends leave on Thursday going to change out water to get the CYA Down more. Pucks not the answer.
