Just got my pool replastered. they had to change the single drain to a split main drain. I've been brushing it everyday and notice all the dirt and debris just sits right next to the drains. I would assume the drains suck that into the filter. is there a problem here? I even closed the diverter in the skimmer so all the suction from the pump should be pulling from the Main drains. then I cranked the pump to 3000 rpm and brushed the debris to the drains, nothing got sucked in. PB said "your new main drain won't act the same as your last one, we pressure tested it, it's fine". is this normal with a split main drain and I just need to vacuum to get debris out? I was told not to vacuum for 28 days

They really don't. There was a video posted a while back with dye. Only the dye directly over the drains moved, and 6 inches to a foot above the drains floated around like the drains were off.

If you want anything brushed to go out the drain it needs to be floating and as close to the drain covers as possible. It takes a few tries to get the hang of it, stirring it up but not making a giant cloud that floats away.
