Lowering TA

Good afternoon! Just wanted to confirm that based on these levels, I should be trying to bring down the TA? It recommends 6lbs PH down, then aerate to bring PH back up. What can I use to aerate? I don’t think I have anything that could do that (besides 4 splashing children). I did add the 3gal chlorine it recommended already. Also, once I’ve added the PH down, how long do we need to wait before getting back in the pool? Water is still clear and clean looking.

Do you have muriatic acid? I would use that instead. If not, use the pH Down for now. Bring the pH down to about 7.2. Later, let the pH hit 7.8-8.0 before lowering it back down to 7.2. The larger dose of acid helps to impact the TA better. Aeration may not be needed if you're not in a hurry. The pH should rise on its own.
