"Low Ambient" heat pump - Hayward HP21404TC

Does anybody have real-world info on how well a low-ambient heat pump (e.g. the Hayward HP21404TC) actually works? The brochure indicates it will kick out 85k BTUs/hr at 50° and operate all the way down to 40°. But I'd like to hear from somebody who lives in a cold-ish climate and has had success or failure with it.

I don't mind a long warm-up period in the spring, and I prefer to keep my pool at a constant 82° all summer since it gets used nearly every day. And I have an auto-cover so my daily heat loss is pretty low.

Cost-wise, I can get "interruptible" electricity for 7.5c/kWh so I'd definitely save money.

Thanks for any experiences you can share!

I do not, but also looking at that unit. I notice that it's performance is identical to the HP21404T at 50/80/63%, and it's COP is actually worse than the HP21404T at each temperature down to 50F where the T is 4.4 vs. the TC at 4.0. I'm not sure that the extra $ will make an impact in the season length.
