Hey there!

My name is PJ and I work for a pool supply company in Colorado. My father in law purchased the business 2 years ago from the previous owner, who was and is beloved by pool professionals in the Front Range. At the time I was doing HVAC work, but came on board and was tasked with learning everything about pools. My father in law works in the Water and Wastewater industry, and handles that side of things, and it is up to me to learn on the fly everything I can about pools. The learning curve has been steep and mistakes have been made, but I have come a long way and am focused on being as prepared as possible for the pool season in 2024. I joined this forum because I frequently reference it for opinions from the people actually doing work and running pools, as I've found that sales reps for the big companies often times have no clue what they are talking about. This job means everything to me, as I come from a difficult past that makes it hard to get employment that doesn't involve wearing a tool belt, and I am dedicated to finding success here.

Our company does primarily pool chemicals- bulk Chlorine being the biggest item sold- but we want to explore every option available, and to that end I have been gobbling up all the information I can about SWG's, Chemical Controllers, Pumps, Filters etc. I am scheduled to get my CPO in February and AFO later this year, which will help me quite a bit. I started out working in the warehouse here but sort of got thrust in to a forward facing role after we had nearly all the employees quit on us. My current focus is on redesigning the chlorine pump system for our bulk chlorine trucks, which have 2500 gallon tanks, and redesigning the pool vacuums the previous owner created and sold, which no longer work. I appreciate this place and look forward to gaining more knowledge about this industry.

Thanks,

PJ
