The craw space under the porch attached to my home is approx. 5 ft. tall. The porch is often used. We intend to install our pool pump and clorinator in the draw space. The pool will be 16x35 with a 3.5 ft shallow end and 6 ft. deep end. The recommended pump is 1 HP. My concerns are. Will the equipment located under the house pose any kind of health issues? Will 1 HP be sufficient and will the noise be noticeable for folks on the porch? Thank you.

My job has me go to 4 or 5 homes a day. I have seen pool equiptment under decks and in crawlspaces hundreds of times with no issues. If you have a single or dual speed pump, the noise will be pretty loud on your deck. Better to go variable speed which would be much quieter and propanly silent above deck.
