Location of Pool Equipment (Above or Below Pool Deck)?

Good morning! We are getting close to having our pool equipment installed. We ended up deciding to move the equipment location from the location #1 (which was at pool deck level) to location #2 which is roughly 5-6 feet below the pool deck level. The primary reason for this change was to make room for a bathroom in at location #1. In addition, the location #2 will be slightly further away which should help with any sound concerns from the equipment, if any.

We are wondering if it is ok to have the equipment pad placed roughly 5-6 feet below the pool deck. The distance from the equipment pad to the closest water's edge would be roughly 30 feet.

Any advice is very welcome. Thanks in advance!

It might help to update your signature with all of your pool and equipment details. See my signature as an example. But unless your pump is extremely small and unable to push water up a 5'-6' grade to the return(s), it should be fine. Still below the waterline which makes for easy priming.

Thanks for the tip. I have updated my signature for the time being but will put some more thought into it and update as necessary again soon.
