I’ve been using liquid chlorine in my pool since the falls. Now that it’s getting warmer, (in Las Vegas) the liquid chlorine is burning off quite fast. A day or two. Is that normal?
The uv is getting stronger & the days are getting longer- the chlorine needs more protection from the sun as this occurs.
Average Daily fc loss can go as high as 5ppm/day in the summer in the desert. Many in your area find they need up to 60ppm cya in the peak of the summer.
Dose to high target for your cya & replenish before it falls below minimum or you risk algae. That may mean dosing daily.
If you’ve fallen below minimum for your cya multiple times you might want to do an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to rule out algae consuming your fc before increasing cya.
