Second post here - 17000k gallons, Connecticut, full sun. I'm burning through one half gallon of liquid bleach chorine per day. Does that sound right? Crystal clear water and have passed OCLT.

12.5% Liquid chlorine
PH 7.6
CYA ~45-50
Alkalinity 80
Calcium 200

Thank you.

Half gal of 12.5% LC is about 3.3ppm of FC on a 19k gal pool. That is within the 2-4ppm per day that a pool is expected to loose.
Do you have a solar cover? That could help reduce the chlorine loss when pool is not in use and it would also help heating the water.

I needed a full gallon for 4ppm with double your volume just south of you so on the surface it seems fine.

Anytime you have any inkling that there is more going on, perform an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to rule out algae or further adjustments. FC gets consumed by the sun and organics like algae / leftovers from swimming. By doing the overnight test you take the sun out of the equation and will know by morning if something else is brewing.

People are never happy if they need to SLAM but when caught early, it is a FAR easier process.

Keep us posted.
