Liner repair in corner - expanding foam?.

I have a one inch oval hole in the liner above the waterline. It is on the curved corner of the liner. So there is a gap behind the liner and the pool wall. My previous glued patch(with rounded corners) only lasted 12 months. I am wondering if squirting expanding foam into the cavity between liner and wall would make it easier to get the next glued patch well attached. I am nervous of applying too much pressure on what is obviously a weak,spot on an old (12 years) liner.
Any advice welcome!

Interesting repair option. I don't know. Have you already tried it?

Thankyou, no I haven’t done it yet. Spending time pressure washing pool surround and floating slat cover . As far as I can tell there is no compatibility problem between vinyl and the foam…….
