We got a new liner 3 and a half years ago. The install included liner lock, however the liner has popped from the channel for about 6", at two locations.

I thought that while I have the water level lowered to close the pool, I'd try pulling the liner back into the channel.

I've reviewed the process for putting the liner back into the track and it looks pretty straightforward.
But I'm unsure how to deal with the existing liner lock.
-Do pull the liner lock out from its track in the affected area out before trying to reinsert the liner?
-If yes, after the liner has been put back into place, do I need a new piece of liner lock in this section, or should I just pop the existing lock back into the channel?

Thanks

I was able to put the liner in the channel at one of the two locations using hot water.
It's recommended to do this on a warm day when the liner is most flexible, but there aren't any warm days in the forecast, so I guess I'll continue to close the pool and wait until spring.

I've attached a photo of the liner coming out. It is out of the track for about 6".

You can pull out as much of the liner lock as needed to work on the trouble spot. I have one spot that the gap is just wide enough that the liner lock pops out, and if I left it long enough the liner probably would too.

A 2nd piece of liner lock would probably be too fat but you could cut the skinny edge off another piece and use just the tip to give the original strip a little more width.

The liner can be stubborn getting back in place, even with hot water. I find that patience and a million rubs from the outside edges towards the middle section gets it eventually. I get a little on the right, then some on the left, then some more on the right and eventually the middle just pops back in.
