Liner pool with high water table issues

Hi Pool People,

I need advice! I am on my 2nd liner in five years and I don't want to buy a third. My issue is when we get the torrential rains (up to 3x a year), the water table rises and pushes my liner out of place, not only in the deep end but the liner on the walls of the shallow end bulge inward and pull the liner from the coping.

I plan on being in this house for a long time so looked into simply replacing the entire thing with a concrete pool, but they came back with a quote of >95k just for installation, and that quote doesn't ever cover tearing out the old liner pool. It's cheaper to purchase a liner every year than get the gunite pool.

Is there a way to handle water table issues? Am I better off replacing with a fiberglass pool? I guess another option would be to change the location of the pool entirely to a spot in my yard where water table isn't an issue.

Any advice will be appreciated!

Please add your signature. What kid of coping do you have? There are drain specialists that can go down deep around the pool, place stone, pumps, etc. to remove water away from the pool so you do not run into this type of problem. You will have to find someone with knowledge and skill, and the cost will be a lot less than rebuilding another pool.

In addition, proper drainage around a pool is mandatory. I have drains everywhere, even though high tables as I was concerned about this myself. Did you build the pool, or it came with the house. The original PB should have planned for this. Please provide pictures and more information.

Not that this is what they would need to do, but will give you an idea. Search drainage around swimming pool due to high water tables and you will find some information.
