Let's get this thing up... Ahhsome question

Was gifted a hot tube, 430 gallons, earlier this summer. It sat all summer, and got some rainwater in it. I finally got the electric hooked up today, so hoping to start getting it up and running tomorrow. It's currently nasty and a little pink in there.

I was just planning to drain, fill, chlorinate, but after reading a few threads I ordered a tub of ahhsome (@Ahhsomeguy I'd love to hear from you!).

So now my plan is to do whatever the instructions say, but was hoping to get an idea from the group. Am I filling, adding some chlorine and ahhsome, then draining and refilling again or does the purge put me into a spot where I just chlorinate after wiping away the gunk?

Been keeping a pool crystal clear with this forum, hoping the hot tub works the same, thank you for any feedback!

You need to drain after the purge is complete. I would drain what is currently in there and get rid of any visible dirt or algae.
Then fill it up add a bit of chlorine and repeat the purge until the foam is all white. Then drain and fill again.

You can purge more than once with the same water. After the 1st full dose & purge let it sit a while. Add a half dose for each subsequent purge. Look on YouTube for awesome purge videos. Jim does a good job explaining the process. Make sure you have FC for each purge.
