Left the Frog Anti-bac mineral pac in and yellow TA result

Hi everyone,

Im sure it is fine but I left the Frog anti-bac mineral pac Frog Leap Anti-Bac Mineral Pac® 25K - FROG Products
In the frog chlorinator feeder. I am no longer using the frog system but have it there in case of vacation and because I do not want to touch the plumbing until closing season.

I’m using LC only and only the TFP way, I’m sure everyone knows from my several posts of not being able to read the pH levels but anyhow any harm if I leave it in there? It’s old and probably 1 or 2 years old at this point. Not sure it’s effective at all.

The other thing while testing today while using the speedStir was the TA test turned yellow. Now I know if high FC then it’s expected but I stopped at 15 drops. Anymore than 15 didn’t yield any other color. Is the TA still 150ppm?

Here are the rest of todays results;
7 FC
0 CC
250 CH
pH looks somewhere between 7.6 and 7.8 or maybe 8. I can’t read this Dang thing.
half way between 60/70 for CYA.

I suspect your Frog cartridge is empty by now shold it should be fine. Your TA however is another issue. Here is a quote from the link below: Add 5 drops of R-0008 and swirl to mix. The solution should turn green or blue. If the sample turns red, pink, or yellow, you are done, your TA is zero, and your PH is very very low (4.5 or lower).

But that doesn't match-up to what your current pH reading shows. Can you double-check your pH and TA tests please? Make sure you are using the correct reagents and methods. We need to make sure the TA is not near zero.

Todays UV is at 9 so I’m sure the excess FC burned off and now I am getting the following.

Chlorine looks above 5 and pH looks 7.5?

12 drops of R-0009 (TA 120)

Attached some photos so I can make sure I’m not crazy. Thank you.

Edit: I also measure 25ml before putting the magnetic pill in. The volume of water being tested is 25ml before the pill.

Those look like much better numbers and I agree with the shade estimates.
