Leaky filter union

Last season I had a continuous drip coming from the union. Unsure if it was the black union directly attached to the filter or the white union on the adjoining pipe. I tightened the pipe side as much as I can but can’t get in to tighten the union in the filter; not enough space. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Loosen the unions and inspect the gaskets. If they are in good condition and dirt free, then apply some lube to the gasket. Don't tighten more than hand tight. I found that out one day when I used a strap wrench to tighten and split the union around the circumference.
