I am having major water loss when my pump is on filter. When it's turned off on filter or when it's on but on recirculate I am not losing any water. Any suggestions what is causing this. The ground is smoked within hours of it on filter. Yet I am not noticing water leaking from anywhere on the sand filter or the lines. Could it be the jet?

If it's not showing signs of leaks when on recirculate, that would seem to rule out the return jets. Are you sure the leak isn't coming out of the backwash (WASTE) line? Where exactly are you seeing the wet ground? Maybe show us some pics of your equipment pad or the wet area?
