Leak found only on outside?!

Hi everyone -
We have an 18 x 33 pool. We have a big leak. We found the area, but an inside patch isn’t working. My husband can literally plug the leak from the outside, but we can’t find it on the inside so we’re stuck.

Any ideas??

What kind of pool? Permanent AGP or Intex style?

If Intex or similar, stand on outside with flashlight and shine it close to surface where leak is located, should be able to spot the light from inside.
