Hi all,

I have a leak at the outflow section of my pentair pump at the PVC union. I tried to tighten the nut as much as possible, but it is still leaking. I suspect that the leak may actually be from the pump side male side, and not from the joint between the two sections. I couldn't find info about the union installation in the pump manual, but can I just tighten the fitting more? Is it standard threaded or reverse threaded? Can I possibly over-tighten and damage the pump housing? messages_0.jpegmessages_0 (1).jpeg

The union seals at the pump with an O ring. If you loosen the nut you can tighten the fitting going into the pump. Don't go more than 1/4-turn at a time so as to not damage the fitting or pump. The best thing to do is remove the fitting and check that the O ring is not broken or cracked. That does happen on occasion.
