Hayward TriStar VS-950. Out of warranty. Installed 2018 with new build. To me, it seems as though oscillations are more pronounced recently. Tech who came out to do warranty replacement of Hayward SWG said pump is going out, but I don't want to spend $2500 to replace just the front end (and/or $2000 for the backend)... I am tempted to disassemble and replace shaft bearings and whatever else makes sense and eval from that point..... since I am spending lots of money to repair my 2018 Silverado instead lol... Thoughts?

Bearings. If you have a willing motor shop in your area (or are handy) they can be replaced. Some shops are afraid of dealing with the strong magnets in the motor. I'm not a motor shop and have done it on the tailgate of my truck, those motors are dirt simple. Just be careful of small parts/tools that will go flying toward the motor at high speed if close enough.

Appreciate your advice. Thanks!

I just ordered bearings and other items to do the job... but if anyone is curious what bad bearings sound like, here is a video I found which is pretty close to the sound of my pump motor. 1poolman1, thanks again for your direction!
