Hello all, I’m late to start up this year and have a very green pool. I’m starting out with 0 FC AND 0 CYA. Tested myself FAS-DPD. I’m confused if I need to get my CYA up to 30 first or my FC to 10 first. And how long after adding the stabilizer (nylon sock method) can I accurately test my CYA. Looking for guidance.

I asked as 0 CYA and low pH indicates Ammonia. So your pH was higher when you first tested?

9 is only possible if you raised it with chemicals. Not likely.
So, likely not ammonia.
Start 30 ppm CYA worth of stabilizer dissolving using the sock method. Add chlorine to raise it to 12 ppm FC. Test every few hours and add chlorine as needed. Follow the SLAM Process

48 hours after the granules are fully dissolved.
But no need to wait. Assume you have 30 ppm CYA in the water the minute you start it dissolving. Add chlorine based on that.
