Last years frustration carrying over to this year..

Had the same issue at the end of last season and couldn't figure it out then either..

Here are two pictures. Not the best but they were taken 3 weeks ago.
This brown material is all over the floor and walls of the pool.
Its not sand and when you just slightly agitate it, it immediately gets suspended in the water..
Slammed multiple times last year and it didn't help.. Possibly dead algae that my sand filter isn't catching??
Need some help!

FEW THINGS IVE DONE DIFFERENTLY THE LAST FEW DAYS:
Vacuumed to waste once. (My hose broke so I have to pick up another)
Starting today I added DE to my sand filter.. usual pressure is 8psi. I brought it up to 9psi and then brushed the pool. 30 minutes later it was time to back flush the filter.

Test results.
CYA=30
CH=250
TA=110
PH=7.8
Cl=4 (ordering the TF100 refill because i ran out)

Looks like algae. I would do an overnight chlorine loss test to diagnose this first. Perform the Overnight FC Loss Test (OCLT) - Trouble Free Pool

What is your CC number. Your filter is clogging so it's obviously algae. I would not use DE now as it'll clog much faster.
