Las Vegas - Pool, Spa & Sunken Kitchen | We have water!

It really should be granite…that said, I’d epoxy grout the tile. The wet / dry / wet cycles is what kills it, plus the lack of proper waterproofing. E.g look at spa tiles + efflorescence after a few years.

PS. Ignore this post, just looked back at the pics and the tile is already grouted….it’s all those Lynx appliances that doesn’t make “economic” sense! 😝 When they install the shade structure, extend it over the bar…gonna need shade.
I was just going to post exact same thing. Granite would have been beyond easy care. Deal it up and good to go. I’m in nepa and our winters suck. My granite is perfect.

Miricle sealer for the grout and tile if u want. Blue bottle. Last for a long time if done properly. Lowes used to sell it. I get if from a local supply house how.

Agree on care, but the style of granite would not have fit for what we want to accomplish with the design, so had to change. Thanks for the recommendation for miracle sealer!

Pebble was completed yesterday! Woohooo! What should I be looking for in regards to issues? They are coming to acid wash this afternoon and we can start filling it up!

I remember when you first started on this build. It came out beautiful… Each of your design selections were/are spot on. Best of all, it is in time for the swim season.

I didn’t look back at this thread and all of the photos. Did you show the equipment pad? What equipment did you go with? Another thing, what part of the valley are you’re in? Are you experiencing the way to many windy days, like today? Most importantly, enjoy that oasis!!!

Thanks! It’s been a journey for sure! Here’s a picture of the pad.

We’re in Southern Highlands, and the wind has been TERRIBLE and we are over it! What side of town are you?

Well, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been on here.

Unfortunately, we ran into issues and delays. When it was all said and done, we had to drain the pool and have the pebble chipped out and it was just redone. Hopefully this is it and we can move forward and not have to have any other issues. When the pool is filled back up and we get everything cleaned up, I’ll post some pictures. On a positive note, the PB owned the mistakes and the costs.

Can’t wait to brush and brush and brush all over again 🙄.

Not to mention manage the never ending changing chemicals.

Happy new year all!

Poor install. There were multiple cracks throughout the pool, bar stools had deformities, and where the bar/counter met the pebble was the biggest issue. There were small holes where water was seeping through and on the dry side of the sunken kitchen calcium was building up from the water. There were a few other small issues here or there and the PB felt the best resolution was to redo the entire pool.
