We learned it's important to plant trees that will not drop a lot of leaves into the pool, so Eagleston Holly Trees were suggested. They will be planted along the fence about 5-7 from back wall of pool. I read a couple of posts here but just wanted to see if anyone has these trees. If 5-7 feet far enough away from pool? And this may not be the place to ask but does anyone have dogs and Eagleston Holly Trees. has that been an issue? do these trees drop a lot of berries? wanting to make sure these trees are safe around pool and around dogs. Thanks

Our area is mild and we have dozens of 'evergreen' trees, and they are deceptively high maintenance. Rather than total leaf loss 1 month of the year, you will find them dropping the entire year in small amounts with emphasis in the spring.

Much like human skin - we never 'lose' our skin, but we shed it constantly. The tree will remain 'green' but it still needs to replace its canopy as growth cycles take place.

I don't have experience with the holly tree you are purchasing, but Google says they "explode" with berries in the fall. I would argue berries are just about the last thing you want near your pool. The tannins will stain everything.
