Key Water Stats

So I was re-reading the PB docs that I received and I noticed they state to keep for the first year an ALK of 100 and PH of 7.4.

I have found it extremely difficult to maintain this PH for any prolonged period of time without decreasing the ALK. I have found an ALK of 50/60 idea for keeping the pool at this level without having to add baking soda and acid every two days.

The catch is that the CSI turns more negative and givers around -.3 to -.40 when at these levels with current water temps and CH.

Should I ignore these instructions and keep PH at 7.5 or so and ALK where it is or throw in some baking soda and battle it out?

I also posted another question regarding what looks like scale but seems difficult to believe it is as I have maintained a low PH and negative CSI so if anything I thought I would be prone to pitting versus scale. However all and any advice is always greatly appreciated.

It is not realistic to maintain the pH and TA they state. Water naturally seeks a pH of 8+. So letting your water sit at 7.8 or 8 pH with a TA of 60 or so will be best.

How are testing your water chemistry?

What issue would come about from my current state? Latest test on the website through the app. I had to drain some water today as they were fixing some of the rock wall so I had to refill about 10% of the pool back. I will have to test agian but curious as to if something must be done as I’m under the impression the stats should be fine
