Good afternoon. Last year we had a 18x36 roman end inground vinyl liner pool built on our sloping corner lot. I credit the final results with a lot of information I learned stalking the forums here at TFP. Our goal was not to build a high end oasis but to have something that we could enjoy with our friends and neighbors. Previously we had an AGP at our prior home and I had a pretty strong feeling that my wife was going to want one once we moved into the new home.

We decided that we would have a builder handle the pool installation and that I would do the landscaping. We talked to four builders, selected one and paid the deposit in the fall of 2016 for a spring 2017 build.

I went to work creating drawings for my wife to be able to visualize what this was going to look like. I went through three basic pool shapes and dozens of iterations on the landscaping around it. The builder came out early in the spring of 2017 and staked out the back yard. I went to work creating drawings based on discussions with the builder and information from the city. We have an easement running through our back yard so it made it a bit more challenging than anticipated to fit everything in where we wanted. Eventually we had to make a few sacrifices based on the location/size and elevations. I can't recall the exact measurement but I think it was close to a 30" drop form the door of the walkout basement to the left rear corner of the pool deck. The elevation does sound like much until you place 700 sqft of perfectly flat water in the area. Here is the last overhead visual with the layout.

I'll add more pictures in later posts (most construction pictures are on my phone). One extremely helpful thing I did to calm my nerves throughout the build was I installed a POE IP camera to view the build site while I was at work.

So you are saying you have already built this pool and we get to sit back and enjoy the ride!!! That will be a new one! THANKS! WAIT!!! That means I do not get to spend any of your money!!!!!!! LOL

Yeah, I thought that by documenting the process it might help others, I learned a lot from reading others construction threads here. There was one person on here that really inspired me to take on the pavers myself after they shared their process here.
