Just trust SWG Water Temp Reading?

Newbie here thank you,

My SWG reads 88 degrees and my handheld Salinity / Temp meter says 80 degrees today.

The SWG and Hand Tester variance typically has been about 6-8 degrees.

I assume my Jandy SWG Temp is what I need to use as my trusted source.

Does anyone have any guidance?

I wouldn’t trust the salinity part either but the temp of electronic meters has seemed to be ok. I’d find a third one to figure out which one is off. But you might find that a third tool just adds three degrees of uncertainty.

I would try an actual thermometer to figure out which is right.

Yes, I agree. I will return this unit. I forgot my Heat Pump also has a Current Temp Reading. The two are spot on, so this little meter I bought can't be very accurate unless I am misthinking this. Thanks

Water in exposed piping could potentially be hotter than the body of pool water. But it's always wise to not trust the electronic readings from any of the pool equipment and verify with either a proper tool, or test. Ie. A thermometer for water temp, a K-1766 drop based test for salinity, etc.
