I just want to thank the TFP community for this fantastic site. Last summer I bought a house with a pool and a bloom of mustard algae. A late-night search brought me to TFP, which sent me straight to the 24-hour big-box store to buy a carload of bleach, despite my husband's skepticism ("Bleach? In the pool?!"). This year, we've stuck with the TFP method and our trusty Taylor test kit through a liner replacement, a dead pump, and a multi-day pool party over the 4th of July. So many people have commented on how "crystal clear" and "sparkly" the water is and everyone has been amazed that "there's no chlorine smell."
PoolMath and Pool School have given me the knowledge and confidence to maintain a safe and gorgeous pool---easily and with minimal cost. Plus, I love the positivity and support on this site, which has made it actually enjoyable to learn about water chemistry and pump impellers. (My family calls me obsessed, but they certainly seem to appreciate the results.)
So, THANK YOU!!!
(I just became a supporter, but I wanted to post this note to encourage other newbies to stay the course. It's totally worth it!)
