Just opened

Water surface temp here at 9:30 am is 60 degrees. Sun is out and did the cya test twice. Both times it looks like high upper 30’s. So I’ll round up to 40. I will monitor today and test tonight.

It looks like you are on the right track, you passed your OCLT and your pool looks great so i would lean towards low CYA as the cause of rapid daytime FC loss. Since you just added more CYA I would monitor the daytime FC loss for a couple days and see if increasing the CYA helped. You should only be loosing 2-3 FC per day, but you will loose more FC at SLAM level than you will if you keep it in the target range for your CYA.

Tested tonight after sunset and my FC dropped to 4 after starting the day at 8. It was another bright sunny day, a lot pear tree flowers floating in the air, and a high temperature of 75. With my cya of 40, my PoolMath states my range of FC is 3 - 7. I targeted 7 tonight with my dosage of LC. I shall see what tomorrow testing results will be like. I’m learning a lot and I appreciate the support and guidance.
