I open pool yesterday and there is a stain all over bottom. I included two pictures maybe someone will have some advice. I’m not sure what it is or what caused it. I tried brushing and nothing comes off. This is my 15 th year opening and first time I’ve had this problem. problem. I did have the pool plastered 4 years ago. Any advice on treatment would be appreciated.

What happens if you put Vitamin C or a puck on the stain for a minute? Those two tests should help determine if it's organic or metal staining.

With green water, you will need to treat the algae first, if it's organic, a SLAM will help remove the stains too, if it's metals, you will need to complete the SLAM process before you can treat the stains.

Well I’m really worried now. Put a puck over one of the areas and asorbic acid on another no change on stain. The stain is 1/2 the pool surface. I can’t find when I closed what my numbers were but remember some, ph was 7.2, hardness was 250, free chlorine was 2.
