Uncovered my pool 6 days ago, water was brown/green. Been running filter 24/7 and shocking
with 10% liquid chlorine. Can see shallow end ,struggling with deep end. Im having vinyl liner
replaced. Install guy says HE JUST NEEDS TO SEE DEEP END to take measurements.Im trying
to do MINIMUM maintenance (brushing, vacuuming, etc) since its all water is coming out. Any
ideas how to just get it clear enough for measurement? Pool clarifier? Thanks

You can shut the filter off overnight and see if the dead algae settles enough to see the bottom of the deep end. If its clear and he can't come out that day slowly vacuum to waste in the deep end, keep adding bleach and filter during the day, and let it settle overnight again.

If letting it settle overnight doesn't help with clarity you can try using flocc, since you are able to vacuum to waste. You have to follow the instructions exactly as written, and it may take a couple of doses to clear the pool enough to see.

If water is cheap in your area and its going to be near the end of the season before the liner is delivered and installed, drain the pool the day before the guy is scheduled to measure the pool and refill after its measured. Make sure there is no recent or forecast rains before draining to protect the integrity of the pool walls.

Will try to let it settle tonight..can see halfway to deep end..Install will be ASAP after measurements taken( 3 weeks or so for them to make new liner) Trying to avoid any type of
excess maintenance..will check in the morning and hope it settles..thanks

Get some liquid floc and squirt it all over the pool.

Turn the filter off so that the floc does not get in the filter.

Note: We usually do not recommend floc, but this is a case where the water is going to be drained anyway.
