Jet removal

Can anyone help me on how to remove this from a fiberglass insert pool? We have to remove the Poly Jet Body Wall fitting due to it leaking, pic attached also, and I can’t get the thing off. Is there a special tool? We have tried to turn it but I’m worried about it breaking and then really not being able to come off. I am hopeful that removing this will help get the wall fitting off also. Excuse the bugs and dirt, it’s been like this now for about 2 weeks.

I would think the jet would just unscrew using a deep-well socket.. But..

It appears to me that what is holding the whole device on to the fiberglass is the outside ring with the treads.

If you take the outer ring off, I would assume the whole thing would just fall off.

I suspect there is a tool that fits into the little notches that removes the outside ring.
