I recently replaced my pool pump and motor due to a motor failure. The pump is still good. The pump and motor is the original to the pool and about 7 years old. I only replaced both because the failure occurred on a weekend and i could not find a new motor anywhere and I was able to find a new complete Jandy E pump/Motor about 1 hour from my house so i snatched it and had the pool back functioning. My question now is what should i do with my old but still good E Pump. The model number for my old E pump is VSSHP270AUT. I thought about trying to find a motor for it and saving it for a full spare. But i am having a very hard time finding the correct motor. Can anyone recommend a good motor to make this a complete spare or should i just I just forget about it and trash the still good pump.

You might just keep it for parts should something fail on the new one.

Are you sure it was a motor failure and not the drive?

Bearings can be replaced if that was the problem.

The drive is usually sold with motor and the combo seems to cost almost as much as a new pump:

I guess it could be the drive. i Just know that when i tested the voltage at the drive i was getting 240 volts but there was no sound or movement from the motor. It was just dead. Wow its crazy that the prices of a replacement motor are almost the same as a full pump and motor. Thank you for the Link. I think i will just keep the pump for spare parts.
