Jandy AquaPure PLC1400 Error code 120

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me resolve my issue. I have a 6 year old PLC1400 and I'm getting code 120. It comes and goes. I took the cell off and it had a lot of calcium buildup. I bathed it in a diluted muriatic acid solution for about 10 minutes until the fizzing stopped. I reinstalled the cell and the code came back. I pulled up the DC plug just enough to expose the 3 prongs. The voltage between the middle prong and each end prong was 34.6.

When I test the pool water at the surface, it does not register any chlorine. However, when I test the water coming right out of the return lines, the chlorine reading is in normal range. Any advice would be appreciated

Welcome to TFP!

Considering the age of the cell it's highly probable that it needs to be replaced.

Inspect the DC power cable to the cell for any type of damage. Also check the pins on the cell and see if anything looks to be wrong with them such as being loose or burnt.

Have you gone through the troubleshooting flow chart? You can find one by Googling Jandy AquaPure Workbook.

Thank you for your response. I have looked at the flow chart but couldn't find anything related. Below you will see 2 photos. One is the voltage at the board which is 11.2. The other is the voltage a the prongs which is 35.2. The pins are loose. In fact they were leaking in the beginning of the season. I replaced the o-rings whic stopped the leak. Are loose pins a sure sign that the cell is bad?

Everything that I have found says the cell is worn out and needs to be replaced.

It's best to replace the cell, cord, and sensor. Make sure the sensor is the latest design with a module with A or B programs.

Did you finally replace the cell? I have a similar problem and looking for a solution.
